Hanwell Methodist Church
Composed and designed by Ray Garnett
Hanwell Methodist Church sponsors the 5th Hanwell
Scout Group which consists of three
groups:
the Beavers (6 - 7 years),
the Cubs (8 - 10 years),
and the Scouts (11+ years of age).
Activities
The group runs a broad range of activities each term, and takes part in District events. The leaders encourage all of their young people to compete for badges, and to take part in team events.
Recent activities have included: sailing, canoeing, swimming, skating, athletics, cross-country running, 5-a-side football, orienteering, climbing, etc.
The scout leaders arrange regular camps for Cubs and Scouts, and day-trips for Beavers. Over the last few years successful camps have been run in the Isle of Wight and the New Forest as well as many camps nearer home.
The Scouts, Cubs and Beavers (which are open to both boys and girls) meet on a Thursday evening in the halls behind the Church.
Our Scout group celebrated its centenary in 2016.

Scouting is all about fun, challenge and adventure
We are the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation. We change lives by offering 6 to 25 year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.
Adventure is at the heart of everything we do. It is the single most important thing that sets Scouts apart.
Meeting Times
The pictures on the right show our scout group carrying the flags for the 2015 St
George's Day parade to represent
the District as 5th Hanwell won Totem Camp.
John Stanton also got his Queen’s Scout award presented.
